Deposit

French tax law requires gîte owners to voluntarily declare to their town (in our case, the communauté de communes de la ville de Nice), via a website, any stay made during the year. The aim is for the owner to pay a so-called "taxe de séjour" (tourist tax) to his or her commune. This tax is calculated per adult per day, and its unit amount depends on the number of stars the Gite has been awarded. The tourist tax is added to the basic price described above. If you click on the button below, the Gîte Macalinewa will be classified as a "3-etoiles meublé de tourisme": in 2024, the tax is then 2.01 Euros per adult per day .. which adds 28 Euros for 2 adults with 2 young children a week. In 2025, the tax will be 2,28 Euros per adult per day

Tourist Tax

• High Season (July & August) : 855 Euros per week (from Saturday night to Saturday morning)

• Middle Season (May, June, September + all French Vacation period) : 732 Euros per week (from Saturday night to Saturday morning)

• Low Season : 3 days minimum, 76 Euros per day

Our Price

Deposit amount: 500 €. The deposit will be paid by a bank transfer or by cash on arrival; If no problem is found, it will be returned on the last day of the rental period.

Our Contract (quite the same as the Gite de France one)

• The reservation of the cottage will be effective upon signature of a contract and payment of a deposit of 25%. The deposit can be made by a bank transfer.

• The balance (excluding tourist tax and deposit) will be payable by a bank transfer two months before entry into the premises

• The tourist tax and deposit will be paid upon the entry into the premises

Cases of contract resiliation

Any cancellation must be notified by registered letter to the owner.

• More than 2 months before the date of entry into the premises, the deposit remains with the owner.

• Between 1 and 2 months before the date of arrival, the owner will refund 50% of the received amount.

• Less than one month before the date of arrival, no refund will be made

• In case of force majeure, do not hesitate to tell us!

If the tenant does not show up within 24 hours of the arrival date indicated on the contract, this contract becomes null and void and the owner can dispose of his cottage. The amount of the stay will remain with the owner.

If the stay is shortened, the rental price remains with the owner. No refund will be made.

Cancellation

The cottage Macalinewa has a maximum capacity of 4 people (excluding children under 2 years). The Macalinewa Cottage does not accept pets (... even if we had some and love them).

Failure to comply with any of these clauses will entitle us to refuse you access to the cottage. No refund will be made

Check-in / Check-out (**)

The check-in is done - at the earliest - from 16h to 20h

Check-out is from 8:00 am and - at the latest - 10:00 am

(**) the times of 10 am for check-out and 16:00 for check in are imperative so that we can put the cottage and its environment in condition between 2 rentals. The other two times are common sense.
